HISTORY MADE! GDGI OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES THE GREEN DISABILITY REVOLUTION
June 26, 2025 will be remembered as the day barriers were broken and a new movement was born. On this historic day, the Global Disabilities Green Initiative (GDGI) was officially launched at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, igniting a bold era of inclusive sustainability.
Over 100 disability champions, government leaders, royal fathers, and global allies came together to affirm a shared commitment to disability-inclusive climate action and sustainable development.
Architects of Change in Attendance:
- Dignitaries: Representative of the Chairman, House Committee on Disability Matters
- Ministers: Housing & Urban Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Agriculture, and Environment
- Royal Fathers: Representatives of the Emir of Bida and Etsu Nupe

Disability-Inclusive Solar Training & Deployment Program
A hands-on renewable energy project that trained Persons with Disabilities in solar installation and supported them with starter tools. Graduates helped install solar home systems in low-income households, improving access to clean energy in underserved communities.

Solar Lamp Outreach for Schools & Learning Centres
An outreach initiative that distributed solar reading lamps and provided renewable energy education to students—especially learners with disabilities. This project improved study conditions and promoted early climate awareness among young learners.

Community Urban Greening & Tree Restoration Initiative
A climate action project led by PWD environmental stewards who planted over 500 drought-resistant trees across vulnerable communities. The project restored green spaces, reduced heat stress, and created long-term environmental benefits.
