Mariame Kanté
GDGI Representative in Guinea · State Registered Nurse
Mariame Kanté is a Guinean State Registered Nurse, project coordinator, and civil society leader. She works mainly in community health, disability rights, sexual and reproductive health, prevention of gender-based violence, and the leadership of women and young people.
She has experience in project planning, community mobilisation, training, advocacy, monitoring and reporting, with a particular focus on improving access to health services, information and leadership opportunities for women and girls with disabilities.
Mariame is also President of Plateforme Santé Handicap en Guinée, a member of the AWLN Guinea Youth Caucus, and the Representative of the Global Disabilities Green Initiative in Guinea. Through these roles, she promotes disability inclusion, women’s leadership, community participation and greater awareness of environmental issues affecting persons with disabilities.
Her goal is to contribute to a more inclusive society where women, young people and persons with disabilities can fully participate in community development and decision-making.
