Our Story

The Global Disabilities Green Initiative (GDGI) is a pioneering organization committed to making sustainability truly inclusive. Founded on October 24, 2024, GDGI works at the intersection of disability rights, climate justice, renewable energy, environmental stewardship, and sustainable agriculture, ensuring that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) are not left behind in the global green transition.

We believe that a sustainable future must be accessible to all. Through innovative programs, advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships across Africa and beyond, we empower PWDs to participate, lead, and thrive within the green economy.

Our initiatives span the development of inclusive renewable energy systems, accessible green technologies, disability-smart agriculture, PWD-focused climate action, environmental restoration, and capacity-building for green jobs. We also work with governments, global agencies, and development partners to shape policies that integrate disability inclusion into climate and environmental frameworks.
